Dashboard in TRP

TRP's dashboards empower users to view comprehensive and interactive visualizations.

TRP's Dashboards enables users to:

  • Insights in form of visualizations

  • Data exploration by drill down and filtering

  • Share dashboard via email

  • Download the dashboard in the form of PDF and PowerPoint

Data Example

For this example consider data of call records, where different data columns represent start time of call, caller id, caller name and the devices used by the caller to join the call.

Insights and Visualization:

TRP dashboards are composed of individual "Widgets". Widgets are the visual insights. A single value widget is the simplest form of visualization which represents a single value while chart is another type where an insight spans multiple data points.

Single Value Widget

A single value widget displays displays a single value of a measure/metric e.g. “total number of active users”.

Chart Widget

While a chart widget displays a trend, i.e value of the measure/metric over time or another dimension of data e.g. “total number of active users over time”, or “total number of active users by location”.

Data exploration

TRP provides two ways of data exploration on any dashboard. Drill down explores data at a single widget while the filter on the right hand side acts on the whole dashboard.

Drill-down

Drill down allows a user to click into a chart and explore subsections of a chart. This is an excellent tool for debugging data or exploring outliers.

Example Scenario: Analyzing Call Devices

Consider a pie chart widget that shows the number of calls by the user device model.

Initiating Drill Down

1- Click the "Drill down" button located at the top left corner of the widget. This action opens the pie chart widget in a new view, allowing users to interact with the data.

Slicing Call Logs

2- Now to slice the call logs, and check the caller ID of users who joined using a particular device, click the data in the widget and this opens a list of data columns over which the user can drill down further.

  • For instance, check the number of calls joined by HP model device by each caller. Click on the HP- device section in the pie chart, and TRP opens a list of all the data columns to explore by.

  • Select Caller ID

  • TRP drills down the widget in the form of a pie chart for the number of calls joined by Caller ID using the HP device.

Progressive Exploration for same path

3- When drilled down with multiple charts, creating an exploration path, you can pick a different selection from the previous charts without needing to delete the next charts and drilling down again.. For instance, you can swiftly transition from “HP” devices to “Dell”  devices. Remarkably, all dependent charts will promptly adapt, presenting the data aligned with your current selection.

There's no need to delete or recreate charts—TRP's dynamic responsiveness handles the transformation seamlessly.

Changing Exploration Paths

4- Now, let's consider a scenario where you wish to change your drill down path or explore data through a different column. In this case, you'll need to delete the subsequent charts in your drill down path. Once you've removed these charts, you can alter your data selection.

For instance, instead of the call ID of users, you would like to view the “Callers display Name” of Dell devices, you’ll have to delete the subsequent charts, and select the different data column which is  “Callers display Name” in this case.

Changing the widget’s visualization

5- Users can also change the type of drilled down widget by clicking on the widget list at the top left corner of the new widget.

View Drill down Data

TRP enables users to access and view the underlying raw data that serves as the foundation for drill-down analyses. This feature further helps exploring outliers or debugging when sometimes a user wants to see the data of all the columns. This generally is very helpful once the drill down leads to a few rows of data.

Example Scenario: Click on the part of chart data against which you want to review the data.

Click the first “View Data” button from the dropdown.

Dashboard Filter

TRP also streamlines data filtering across the entire dashboard, empowering users with targeted insights effortlessly.

Example Scenario: Date Range Filtering

Imagine a scenario where a user wants to view data across all widgets for a specific date range.

  • From the right-side panel, locate the data filtering options. This panel provides you with various parameters to refine your data view.

  • Within filtering options, focus on the date range parameter. Specify the desired date range for your analysis.

  • Once you’ve selected the desired range, click the “Visualize” button. This action prompts TRP to apply the date filter across all widgets present in the dashboard.

  • As a result of your selection, the dashboard will now display all widgets populated with data corresponding to the specified date range.

  • Click the "Clear filter" button to revert the dashboard to its original configuration, displaying all data without any applied filters.

Download dashboards

TRP allows users to download the dashboard in the form of PDF and PowerPoint.

  • Click on the Download as button at the top right corner of the dashboard.

  • Select from the download type “PDF” or “Powerpoint”.
